9/11 Memorial & Museum
A must do in New York is the 9/11 Memorial & Museum.
Visiting these two places was very emotional. In the museum they have many pieces left over from the World Trade Center. The beam shown below has pictures of missing people. I walked through a room where you can hear recordings of people who left voice messages for their loved ones.
The Memorial sits where the twin towers were standing before the 9/11 attack. The names of the 2,977 people killed in the attack are listed on the memorial. There is a tree that is near the memorial that was named The Survivor Tree. This tree was damaged and taken from Ground Zero. Then,
taken to be cared for by the Department of Parks & Recreation. It was returned to the memorial site in 2010. The tree is a reminder of survival.
Central Park
Visiting Central Park was fun! There was many big rocks that me and my sister climbed. We also rode on the parks carousel. My mom and I rode on a carriage, while my my dad and my sister rode on a horse.
